Funeral ArrangementsDavid's funeral will take place on 18th November. The hearse will leave Wibsey at 2.10, arriving for one last time at Albert Terrace, where he will be joined by his family members before going onto Elland Crematorium. Due to Covid restrictions only family and close friends (up to 30 people) can attend the funeral service at the crematorium, which have all been allocated.  

2nd November

Congratulations to Liam & Shauna Bleazard who celebrated their Wedding Day on 31st October 2020. Wishing you many years of love & happiness.  Love WCC.

26th October

It is with great sadness, the club has to announce the passing of former Chairman, Life Member and club stalwart David Wharf after a long illness.
The Club and its members owe so much to David who was a tireless worker for Woodlands Cricket Club for many decades and under his leadership the club grew from what was an archetypal local village cricket club into one of the leading clubs in Yorkshire with facilities to match.  
David was Chairman of the Club for 34 years only recently standing down to become Chairman Emeritus.  For many years David ran the junior section and ferried countless numbers of youngsters to games in his van and for over 30 years spent endless hours as groundsman in addition to his other many roles within the club.
Our love and thoughts are with Jennifer and the rest of the family at this sad time.

25th March 2020 Unfortunately the 6 a side indoor finals at Lords have been postponed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The ECB are looking to hold the finals in October.
Local footpath smartened up:
A well-used footpath runs along the cricket club's boundary behind the scorebox and we use the banking above it to tip our grass cuttings etc.  We thought that a hedge between the footpath and our land would enhance the area and so our ground staff, in conjunction with our local wildlife conservation group, have planted 170 saplings of 5 species of native trees which will grow to make a pleasant hedge. 
Our groundsman, James Nixon, looks suitably proud of the work.  Good Job done!
